RadioDJ upgrading

From 0158 to 1633

Upgrading from v.0.1.5.8/0.1.6.0 to v.1.6.3.3

To start upgrading you have to download the file RadioDJ Upgrader 2.0 (0.1.5.8 / 0.1.6.0 to 1.6.3.3), from

Unzip de file (RadioDJ Upgrader.exe) in the root of your RadioDJ folder.

Start the file.

It get the connect information from the file Settings.xml of RadioDJ.

Select the old version of RadioDJ.
Set the old database name.
Set the new database name.

Click on start.

Now the database is upgraded to version 1.6.3.3, close the program.

From 1633 to 182

Upgrading from v.1.6.3.3 to V.1.8.2

These are necessary steps!

Install Radiodj V.1.8.2

In version radiodj 182 start in the Setup folder the file Database Setup.exe

Adjust the settings to get connected to the database.

Select the tab Database Utils.

Click on Select update file.

Select the sql file as showed. Click on open. And run it.

The database is upgraded to V.1.7.7 and is now the same as the database of V.1.8.2.

NOTE, the file names:

1.6.5.8 RC7 - UPDATE FROM RC4 AND OLDER.sql
1.6.5.8 RC7 - UPDATE FROM RC6.sql
1.7.7 UPDATE FROM 1.7.6.sql

may look strains, the explanation is there has been many beta version between.

From 182 to 2006

Upgrade RadioDJ v.1.8.2 to v.2.0.0.6

Install radiodj v.2.0.0.6 first.
Start by clicking as administrator SetupRadioDJ2006f2.exe.

Sorry some screens are in Dutch.

Click on Yes (Ja in the screen).

Accept the agreement, click on next.

If the install folder is OK click on next.

Click on Yes (Ja in the screen).

Click on install.

Click on finish.

Database setup screen v.2.0.0.6.

Set the connection to the database server and database of v.182. and click on VALIDATE DETAILS.

The database connection is made.

Now click on the tab Auto Backup.

Check the backup location, adjust it if wrong! ( navigate to the backup folder)

Now click on BACKUP DATABASE.

When the backup is done

Set a new MySQL Database name, and click on VALIDATE DETAILS.

There will be a error massage in the screen because the database name does not exist!

Now click on INSTALL DATABASE.

Click on OK

Wait till the green bar is finish.

Now there is a v.2.0.0.6 database made, in this database we have to put all data from the 182 database.

Now upgrading from v.1.8.2.

With the backup from the 1.8.2 database, we have made sure that the 1.8.2 database remains as it is and usable.

Now click on RESTORE DATABASE.

The Windows Explorer will open on the backup folder of v.2.0.0.6.

Select the 1.8.2 backup file. Click open.

Click OK.

When the restore is done, click on the tab Database Utils

A brief explanation why!
The database created for v.2.0.0.6 was reset to v.1.8.2.
This database must now be made available for v.2.0.0.6, by means of the update option this can be done.

Click on SELECT UPDATE FILE.

The Windows Explorer will open on the RadioDJv2\Setup\Sql\ folder of v.2.0.0.6.

Select the 1.8.2 TO 2.sql file and click open.

Click OK.

Wait till the green bar is finish.

Click again on SELECT UPDATE FILE.

The Windows Explorer will open on the RadioDJv2\Setup\Sql\ folder of v.2.0.0.6.

Select the 2.0.0.3 TO 2.0.0.4.sql file and click open.

Click OK.

Wait till the green bar is finish.

The upgrade is done, start radiodj to check if the upgrade works.

Note. check your rotation and events if there working!

From 2003 to 2006

Upgrading from v.2.0.0.3 to v.2.0.0.6

Before the install/setup v2006:

In version 2003 make a backup save/copy the backup file to a temp folder.

Install setup 2.0.0.6, start c:\RadioDJv2\Setup\Database Setup.exe or during the install it is open.

Copy de backup file of 2003 to the folder c:\RadioDJv2\Setup\Backup folder.

Set or correct the fields, make the connection.

Install a new database. Then restore the database with the sql backup file of 2003.

In the Database Utils tab, click on SELECT UPDATE FILE.

Select the update sql file.

Click OK to update.
